Give Greater Health Staff Activities and Events Fund

Because you personally understand the need for positive employee morale, we invite you to join our campaign “Give Greater Health” from April 5 – May 25 and support the Penn State Health Staff Activities and Event Fund.

Emotional exhaustion. Depersonalization. Diminished professional achievement. These are all characteristics of burnout. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, severe burnout was typically found in 20 to 40% of healthcare workers. However, the pandemic has only exacerbated these risk factors, heightening its harmful effects for our health system, workers and patients.

At the onset of the pandemic, our community rallied to support healthcare workers – providing food, beverages and other goodies to show appreciation. Over time, that external support has waned and staff across the health system have taken it upon themselves to develop staff morale committees to support and uplift one another. These initiatives speak volumes to our staff’s commitment to caring for others – patients, peers and themselves.

With a gift of any size to the Penn State Health Staff Activities and Event Fund, you will help establish a pool of funds available to employee committees across the health system and College of Medicine, who are spreading cheer and celebrating each other’s  accomplishments  through fun activities and events, like theme days for March Madness or pumpkin carving at Halloween.
