What better time to celebrate than during October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
The generosity you all showed during the 50 Shades of Pink event in 2016 as well as the Cocktails for a Cause event in 2017 helped to fund the 50 Shades of Pink Breast Cancer Endowment Fund. This endowment has been, and will continue to be, used to fund breast cancer research, care for patients who have significant financial need, and patient supplies and equipment within the Penn State Cancer Institute.
Recently, the endowment has been used to help fund the work of Dr. Edward Gunther, Professor of Medicine at the Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Gunther is a physician-scientist trained in both medical oncology and cancer genetics. He and his team has been working on uncovering the role of cooperating tumor cell subpopulations (subclones) in breast cancer growth.
Your gift will help to grow the 50 Shades of Pink Breast Cancer Endowment Fund to ensure the funding of important work being done at Penn State Cancer Institute to support research and patient care.
Honor those who have fought and continue to fight!
