The 15th Annual Robert Hamilton Memorial Golf Tournament has been postponed until October, 2021.
However, you can still give your annual support to the Robert Hamilton Family Community Outreach Endowment at the Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute!
Over the past 15 years, the Hamilton family has made it their mission to keep Rob's legacy alive by supporting the Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute and by keeping our communities safe and informed. Here are just a few ways the Robert Hamilton Family Outreach Endowment has been making a difference:
- Supplied funding to purchase AEDs (automated external defibrillator) to local organizations such as Derry Township for use at two youth sports fields, Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg, and Frey Village Continuing Care Retirement Community in Middletown.
- Supplied funding for the purchase of 11 CPR in Schools Training Kits to two local school districts; Manheim Central School District and Northern Lebanon School District. Each kit provides teachers everything they need to facilitate CPR in Schools training for 10 to 20 students at once. Learning CPR is now a requirement for all high school students in Pennsylvania prior to graduation. The kits also instruct the students on how to use an AED in an emergency situation.
Rob Hamilton Memorial Lecture:
Funds raised by the golf tournament are also used to help support the annual Rob Hamilton Memorial Lecture, typically held in the fall. This annual lecture is presented by the Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute to faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. The lecture features a Heart and Vascular Institute faculty and/or staff member speaking on topic of their choosing. Past topics have included Structural Heart Disease, Vascular Disease in Women, Latest Update on Cholesterol and Heart Attacks: Facts and Myths, and The History of Heart Transplantation.
