Wow - what a year 2020 has been thus far! So many unprecedented events. As I sit here writing this, Adams County, PA is now in the "green" following the COVID-19 pandemic. But let me draw your attention to the color "ORANGE"...the color associated with leukemia.
After discussions, we have decided to hold our 13th annual Kenneth F. Noel Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Diagnosis of cancer have not stopped, even though it seems like the rest of the world has paused for a time. We understand that times have changed, but we still wanted to have an outlet for golfers to come together for a great cause! Many businesses and individuals who have supported us the past 12 years will be unable to this year. We understand these are very difficult times, and whatever proceeds we collected from this tournament will again be donated to the Penn State Cancer Institute for Leukemia Research. We are so very to say that, over the past 12 years, we have donated $139,000 for leukemia reserach in memory of Ken. Each year, our family personally visited the Penn State Cancer Institute to deliver the proceeds from our event and meet with Dr. David Claxton and researchers to receive updates on how our funds are being used for research.
Our hope is that someday we can eliminate the "Orange" color of cancer, as well as all types of cancer. Your support of this event can help with research and treatment given to individuals diagnosed with leukemia at the Penn State Cancer Institute.
We understand that during these unprecedented times, not everyone will be able to join us on September 12th.
