"On June 8, 2018 I had a bone marrow transplant for AML Leukemia. In August, 2018 and then again in August, 2019, an amazing group of people participated in a dog agility competition charity event in my honor.
My partner and our dog, Eli, along with 5 other amazing people and their talented dogs organized a team for the event called "Eli's Harem of Hope". The team raised money thru raffles, team spirit, generous donations as well as placing 3rd in 2018 and 2nd in 2019.
The charity I chose for the money to support is the Hope for Healing Fund at the Penn State Cancer Institute. This fund is powered by employee-driven fundraising initiatives and community donations. Hope for healing is provided by assisting with treatment related expenses that help patients and families cope with hardships associated with cancer. The fund is used to purchase gift cards for things like gas, food, prescriptions and medical supplies.
100% of ALL contributions are available for patient support.
Eli's Harem of Hope is entered in the competition again for the 3rd year in a row this August! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, more fundraising will need to be done online.
Please help us assist cancer patients with your donation to the Hope for Healing Fund!
Thank you all so very much for your support and prayers through my recovery! - Linda Helfrich
