Let’s Get Ahead!

Head and neck cancer ranks as the seventh most common cancer worldwide and is responsible for over 660,000 new diagnoses each year. It was estimated that 15,400 Americans will die from head and neck cancer in 2023. Early detection and prevention are key to saving lives, which is why we’re launching Let’s Get Ahead.
The Let's Get Ahead Campaign will fund research that will help improve diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for patients with head and neck cancer in our region and beyond. Your support will help us launch this first of its kind effort to bring funds and awareness to our outstanding academic institute.
Lori, a patient at Penn State Health, was being treated for a broken neck from an automobile accident when doctors discovered she had cancer in her throat. A laryngectomy cured her cancer but when she experienced an emergency with her prosthetic device, she needed immediate treatment. The Penn State Health Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery team saved her life and the reason, Let's Get Ahead today!
